My friend's wedding...

This is a picture of my friend Dave proposing to Julie... I posted about it here.

Well, tonight we attended the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful!

They held it in the backyard of Dave's (and now Julie's) home. He has at least an acre of property, so there was plenty room for the 200+ people to sit for the wedding and for tables and chairs for the reception. (Notice the horse stall in the background? How cool!!)

No detail was overlooked. I particularly loved this flower arrangement which hung from hooks lining the center aisle.

This is a lousy shot, (what can you do with a camera phone?) But it shows how nice they had set everything up. The lights and the heaters worked perfectly. I didn't even need the sweater I brought.

Gorgeous table arrangement...

But more than how they planned and carried off this spectacular event was the spirit behind it. Dave is an amazing, Godly man and his first wife decided she didn't need him in her life. How she could abandon such a prize is beyond me.

Then Dave started talking to Julie... According to her good friend Eric LaPointe she is quite a catch herself. I am very impressed with the way they handled themselves. Even though the marriage had been over for a long time, they both made a point of waiting for the divorce to be final... an excruciatingly long time for them both.

I wish them all the happiness these two deserve, and that is quite a lot. They are very lucky to have each other and I am glad he found someone who realizes how truly wonderful he is.
