The Christmas Season Has Officially Begun!

Chandler had a great idea about having a weekly Christmas Movie Night. So tonight was our first go at it. Since it was decided very last minute, I made a quick call to the Bambricks, who were also planning an at-home Friday night, and the deal was sealed.

Chandler really wanted to start with this, the best of all Christmas movies. But I knew the Bambricks had already seen some of it and HATED it! (How anybody could hate this movie is beyond me. It got 4 1/2 stars on Amazon!! I told them they had no soul, but that's a different conversation.) Of course this from a family that really liked Jack Frost, the universally panned movie about a dad who dies and comes back as a snowman. Reviews here, here, and here (scroll to bottom story).

So they brought a small stack and we had our small stack and I think to shut us up, they agreed to give it another go. Dawn labeled it "forgettable", Rick laughed once. The kids seemed to enjoy it. I thought it was great. Two thumbs up!

We rounded out the night with A Charlie Brown Christmas - a classic.

So what's next? What's the next Christmas movie we HAVE to see? If you want to cast your vote and join us we would love to have you! I'll have to figure out when the next one will be. We'll provide the coffee/hot chocolate!

A Christmas Story is by far my favorite Christmas movie of all time and then I had a hard time thinking, my mind went blank, but maybe The Santa Clause movie with Tim Allen, is that his name? I really enjoyed The Nativity Story that they made a couple of years ago... That is all I can remember for now. I am ready for our invite now!

I have a hard time watching all the Christmas Movies that I have. Polar Express, Miracle on 34th St.(both the original and the last one made) and of course the all time favorite, It's a Wonderful Life.

Ask us over anytime to watch one of these.

ok Michelle,
Equal time here...

We brought REAL christmas movies:

- It's a wonderful life
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- The Preacher's Wife
- A White Christmas
- A Charlie Brown Christmas

I forgot to bring:
A Christmas Carol - with Patrick Stewart! That is the NEXT movie we should see.

I will bring the Wassail, which as you should know is always drunk on 12th night!

Of course the best ever is It's a Wonderful Life. But, my favorite is probably the Charlie Brown Christmas movie.

I am excited to get The Nativity and watch it this year. We saw it in the theater last year and are looking forward to seeing it over and over again.

BUT..... I just can not do anything for Christmas until the Friday after Thanksgiving. I get all of the greens and reds mixed up with the oranges and browns. Too overstimulating for me, probably.

You are all probably going to get a chuckle out of this one, but our family truly loves Elf with Wil Farrel. The kids just watched it a couple days ago.

I'm gonna have to go with Elf. I laugh hysterically every time, just ask the Huttons.

I love the Christmas season as much as I do all things Disney! (I love Jesus though more than both, don't worry!) So here is my list of Christmas must haves...in no particular order of course.

White Christmas
Holiday Inn
Elf
National Lampoons
A Christmas Story
Miracle on 34th Street
Home Alone II
Nightmare Before Christmas
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Christmas in Connecticut
and of course...
Frosty the Snowman
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Charlie Brown
and
How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Rene and I love watching Christmas Vacation. You can't go wrong with Rudolph and Frosty. Oh, and don't forget the "classic" Santa Claus conquers the Martians.
