Shouldn't they be called "Most Wonderful Person on the Planet Jeans"?

I told Chandler that if she ever saw me wearing "Mom Jeans" or the equivalent, let me know.

Well that day has come.

My 14-year-old is now giving her mom fashion advice. She recently, very gently, told me that if the yoga pants I was wearing were jeans, they would be Mom Jeans.

So now I'm looking for a cool, hip pair of sweats (seems a bit of an oxymoron).

But that got me thinking about the term "Mom Jeans". I agree that they are not flattering and look dated. I just hate that term. Why is it that outdated and unflattering got the name "Mom" attached to it.

I think us hard working moms deserve better. Why can't super-cute, very stylish jeans be called "Mom Jeans" and the frumpy ones be called... something else. I can't think of anything clever off the top of my head, but I know we moms have to band together and fight this attack on our basic coolness.

Moms make the world go round. We deserve better.

That last line is why mom's are known for making the world go round. That's what they do well. Not dressing stylish.

That being said, I'm sure you would fit into the category of cool mom's that know how to dress. You're just part of a growing minority. ;)

They're called "Mom Jeans" bc te only people who wear them are moms. Not because you deserve something like that.
Love you Mommy!

Well, to throw my two cents in, be careful, because the only thing worse than the "mom jean" is the mom who tries to dress like a 16-year-old. So don't take too much advice from Chandler. No offense to Chander, of course. :)

Amen!
Yes, mom jeans is a term that goes with outdated unstylish jeans.
But the only reason mom is wearing those jeans is because she always spends the extra cash on the kids. And since they still fit, no need to splurge on herself. So she still wears the same jeans she had 10 years ago (providing they still fit.) If you notice, the jeans we bought last month are NOT called mom jeans. So maybe we should rename them "family comes first jeans".

Chandler says that if you are wearing the same old embarrassing jeans for ten years, most children would gladly give up a meal or two to get out the humiliation of having other people see them with a mom in mom jeans.

I thought 'retro' was in - and the 80's are making a comeback - I am confused though - based on those jeans... is it the 1880's?
