It was AMAZING. Such a beautiful location. Very small - 47 people. Casual atmosphere, but still retaining the solemnity of the event. Right on the ocean. The waves crashed maybe three feet from where we sat.
Josh was so cute as a ring bearer and he almost made it down the center aisle. Walking on a bed of flowers concerned him somewhat so he ran around the side and joined his dad in front.
As Melissa started walking to the ceremony from the plantation house where she had gotten ready, Brian lost it. It was so cool to see him overcome by the emotion of the moment. Neither had their dads alive to join them on this day and I think that added another layer of sentimentality.
The pastor was from a local Calvary Chapel. Brian and Melissa had been in contact with him for the last year. Despite calling in sick with the flu on Sunday (a big deal for a pastor) he managed to make it to the wedding on Monday like a trooper! He did a fantastic job. I particularly liked the way they did communion. Not only did Brian and Melissa take communion, but everyone in the attendance joined in. All this and waves still crashing just feet away.
Of course, my dad could not resist taking some family pictures. The location was just too beautiful! I took the one of him and my mom. It's a rare picture of him without the "Don't touch that!!" look on his face he gets when anyone handles his camera.
Right before dinner, true to Hawaiian tradition, it started to rain. It only rained for about ten minutes. Not enough to do much damage. Some huddled in the plantation house. We huddled under a tree. This was our spectacular view!!!
During dinner, Brian and Melissa hired an award winning band and dancers to perform in true Hawaiian style. Since we had passed on the luau on Saturday, we were pleased to have a taste of it at the wedding.
And then it was dancing. I think I danced for an hour straight. More than enough to work off the wedding cake, right?!? I got the girls and even Tim out there and taught them a few steps. It was so much fun. I do love dancing. It's the only form of exercise I'll do and not count the seconds!
Weddings always bring out the romantic in Tim and this one was no exception. What a great time! What a great wedding! I can't wait to crash another!!

Hey Michelle,
It looks like you are having a great time aside from the whole coral experience. I'm glad you're o.k. I bet that was scary. I'm a little jealous of the pictures. WOW what a beautiful place. I love the view you guys had while waiting out the rain. Have a great time!!
P.S. I forgot to ask before you left if I could borrow your cupcake holders again. I'll call & leave a message at your house too.
