I took the phone out of the rice, spent a few minutes getting the rice out of every nook and cranny, put in the battery and it powered up!!! I made a phone call (to my house) to check it out and it seems to be fine (for now).
If your phone ever "comes in contact with liquid" see this link. I think it should work for just about any phone model.

So it wasn't the silica you stole that made it work?? LOL It was great seeing you at Target!!! We'll see you soon. I'm so glad it worked, I can't imagine how frustrating that would be to lose all your numbers and contacts. YEAH.. it worked.
Of course you had it all backed up and stored on your external drive too, right? Remember my motto "It is not IF your disc drive will fail it is WHEN"
