Today I heard this lawsuit was actually dropped, so that's a relief. Perhaps the bad press killed it.
Apparently a female cop responded to a call of a near-drowning of a one-year old in the family pool. The child was brought into the house and the officer slipped in some water on the floor. She injured her knee and had to be off work for two months.
The brain-damaged toddler lives in a nursing home.
This quote from the cop's lawyer makes my blood boil: "It's a situation where the Cosmillos [family of the brain-damaged child] have caused these problems, brought them on themselves, then tried to play the victim."
They drag their nearly dead child into the house, and don't bother to wipe up any of the drips. How inconsiderate! Someone could get hurt! And now they have the NERVE to play the victim!
Unbelievable!

That is along the same lines as the burglar who sued the owner of the house that HE TRIED TO BURGLARIZE because the owner's dog bit the bad guy upon entry of the house!
